Extrusion in the production of artificial grass

1. Dyeing of plastic granules
Plastic pellets are melted and dyed, and various functional chemical stabilizers are added in the process.

2. Yarn Molding Secrets
The melted plastic is extruded through a special mold into a long, thin, leaf-like material. This process, called "extrusion," creates fibrillated yarns or monofilament yarns, each with its own unique appeal.

3. The Art of Cooling and Stretching
Cooled plastic filaments are shaped in water, then combed and stretched to become as thin as real grass.

4. The winding journey of yarn
The spooling machine coils the faux grass threads into bobbins. These bobbins are then unraveled to form multiple layers of synthetic yarn, which are coiled again into larger bobbins.

5. Ceremony of preparation for stitching
The yarn passes through a tube into the tufting machine, a giant sewing machine that sews the yarn together with the synthetic sheets to form the main backing of the synthetic turf.

After the turf has been dried on large drying machinery, it is pierced with a hot needle to allow it to penetrate liquids, which is vital for drainage of the fake grass.
