Back Weight: Back weight is the total weight of the grid or mesh on the back of the turf, per square yard of turf. Turf with a higher back weight is more durable and suitable for high traffic areas.

Front/Face Weight: The face weight is the number of ounces of yarn used per square yard of turf. The higher the face weight, the denser the turf's artificial grass grows, the lusher it looks and the softer it feels to the touch.

Infill: Infill is the material that keeps the grass blades upright and protects the back of the synthetic turf from UV rays. Common types of infill include round silica sand, crumb rubber and sub-angular silica. Infill also increases the flexibility and durability of the turf.

Pile Height: Pile height is the length of the longest blade of grass in the fake lawn . Pile height affects the appearance and utility of the turf, for example, a sports field may require a longer pile to provide cushioning, while a pet area may be suitable for a shorter pile.

Roll Width: Typical roll widths for artificial lawn are 78 to 157 inches. Choosing the right roll width will reduce material waste and labor during installation.

Total Weight: Total weight is the sum of the top and back weights of the sod. Knowing the total weight will help you compare different brands and types of sod.

Yarn: Yarn refers to the individual blades of grass that make up artificial turf.

Different types of yarns have different characteristics, such as nylon yarns that are aesthetically pleasing but breathable, and polypropylene yarns that are durable but not as good looking as nylon. Polyethylene yarns strike a good balance between nylon and polypropylene to achieve a balance between aesthetics and toughness.
